Modern trends tend to indicate that people prefer these kinds of activities to be none by not-for-profit organizations and churches rather than by the government. The truth is that America is polarized on this issue. The recent fiasco involving ACORN is evidence of this. umteen people simply do not trust government financed organizations who say they are there to help the poor. Many of these institutions have lost the trust of the people. The trend seems to be away from government spending on this issue and more towards private sector funding of such p rograms. After 2012 we have a better sense of where this is going towards bigger spending on social welfare, that increases our debt, our towards a more pared down and efficient frame that we can afford.
